Durkeesox Assists Multiple Landmark Buildings in Winning the "Luban Award"

Recently, the China Construction Industry Association released the second batch of the 2022—2023 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National High-Quality Project) winners. The Yantai Bajiao Bay International Exhibition Center project successfully made it to the list, winning this prestigious honor. The China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National High-Quality Project), also known as the Luban Prize, is a recognition guided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and implemented by the China Construction Industry Association. This prize represents the highest honor for engineering quality in the domestic construction industry. Being included in the Luban Prize list is a significant recognition of the project's engineering quality.

The Yantai Bajiao Bay International Exhibition Center is located in the Yellow Bohai New Area of Yantai City. The project includes an exhibition center, a comprehensive cultural activity center, and an underground garage. The entire project consists of double-layer Hall A, single-layer Hall B, a registration hall, and a comprehensive cultural activity center. It is an international exhibition complex integrating exhibition, conference, cultural exchange, and commercial services, with a total construction area of 246,000 square meters. The project officially started in June 2020 and was officially put into use in May 2022. It is currently the largest, most functional, and best environment comprehensive exhibition venue in Yantai.

Exhibition buildings generally use a full-air large air duct system due to the high density of people, large thermal and humidity loads, large air supply volume, high fresh air ratio, and intermittent use. The demand for air conditioning is mostly concentrated in spaces below 3 meters, mainly to provide a comfortable environment for visitors. It allows for slightly higher local air speeds indoors, even around 0.5 m/s, without causing noticeable discomfort to the audience inside the venue. Traditional ductwork solutions have significant self-weight, high installation difficulty, requiring seismic braces which noticeably increase the cost. Moreover, there is leakage at the insulation material/flanges/air outlet connections of ductwork, and condensation is prone to occur, temperature rise is noticeable, air supply effectiveness is affected, energy consumption is high, and special exhibition stands significantly obstruct airflow, causing uneven airflow distribution inside the venue, especially in the middle of the exhibition hall.

The "Luban Prize," hailed as the "Oscars of the Chinese construction industry," represents the highest honor for construction engineering quality in China's building industry, making its selection criteria exceptionally stringent. The Durkeesox ductwork highly meets the selection criteria of the Luban Prize, providing strong support for buildings aiming for this award.
